I'm expecting an uncommon Thanksgiving celebration this year—one that will provide a great opportunity for fresh growth in our lives.

In the midst of much turmoil, here is a word of enduring hope. With parts of our city and of our national economy in need of rebuilding, here is a word of enduring truth. As we confront the challenges of life in this fallen world, here are promises with which we, as believers, can face each day with calm assurance, and with an anticipation of His goodness, as one who waits for the sunrise.

Thank you, dear members, for your great response during this past month! You have graciously shuttle-parked (or parked in uncommon locations), sat in combined Sunday School classes, and assisted in response efforts in a multitude of ways. Thank you.

We have tremendous opportunities this summer to work together to extend Christ's kingdom. As I share briefly about several of these, I invite you to seek to answer this question: “How would the Lord have me help?”

Due to the flood and disaster relief activities taking place at our church facility, our Vacation Bible School has been rescheduled for the week of August 4 through 8.

Plan now to join us for our annual Vacation Bible School (VBS). This year's theme is Outrigger Island - where kids will learn to know, speak, and live God’s truth.  Based on Psalm 86:11, this tropical adventure will help kids develop the stability they need to become unshakeable in a world of shifting sands. 

The VBS Theme Scripture:  "Teach me Your way, Lord, and I will live by Your truth." (Psalm 86:11, HCSB)

VBS consists of Bible lessons, games, crafts, and worship. It's a fun time and a summer tradition. We hope you'll participate!

VBS is for ages 3 thru 103 (if you're older than that, you'd be welcome, too).

Cedar Rapids is experiencing the impact of unprecedented flooding. While our facility is outside of the flood zone, we know that many of our members, friends and neighbors are affected.

Disaster Relief:

We are hosting Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Teams  from several states. We thank God for these teams of Christian volunteers. 

Schedule:

Our regular Sunday and Wednesday events will continue as scheduled. Please plan to attend!

Portions of our campus are being actively used by disaster relief personnel, so your normal Bible study classroom may be used for another purpose. Please use the front entrance. 

Parking:

Normal parking has been restored.
